08. Make your next product idea a success
Trainer: René Bastijans & Andrej Balaz
Location: Auditorium III
02:30 PM - 06:00 PM
Make your next product idea a success
Most new products or features fail. They may catch consumers’ attention, but don’t offer enough value to keep them, or they may be a great innovation, but consumers perceive them as hard to use or reject their price.
In this workshop, we will teach you the fundamentals of turning your next product or feature idea into a success. We will introduce you briefly to the underlying theory and human decision-making models and heuristics, and, using a live interview with a volunteer, demonstrate how shoppers apply ‘mental shortcuts’ when assessing and deciding to buy new software products. We will also show you how to debrief and capture the interview, and decide what changes are necessary to, e.g. the product’s messaging, product experience or pricing, in order to increase the likelihood of shoppers hiring it.
Why Attend?
By the end of the workshop, you will have:
Become familiar with the fundamentals of Jobs to be Done theory and decision-making models humans use to determine the ‘fitness’ of (software) products
Experienced a new method to uncover pitfalls of a new product idea before you build and launch it
Concise ideas on how to apply the contents of the workshop in your own work
